Easter 2011 was one of the latest dates possible for an Easter Sunday, yet I still found myself up in the night finishing off the bow ties. I guess that it's part of the tradition! Ta da:

I laughed aloud once when I read this advice on someone's blog: "Stop doing family traditions that you hate." There are some of those, aren't there? There are traditions that I feel like I have to carry on even though they take more time and energy than they're worth. I didn't even give the kids Easter baskets this year or dye eggs (yikes!). But I can't give up Easter bow ties! Going to church in Easter bow ties makes the holiday memorable for me. I think that they enjoy it, too.

I have your Easter picture from last year hanging in my office (with green bow ties). I wonder, when you began this tradition, if you expected to be making 6 ties someday!
So cute! We didn't dye eggs this year either -- I kept waiting for someone to remember and ask me about it, and no one ever did! What do you want to bet I'm dying eggs with Mary in the middle of May because she realizes we didn't do it and is deeply disappointed? Easter feels weird here anyway because it's fall, though I think you might have us beat for cold weather. So fun to see an updated photo of your handsome boys -- people must stop everywhere you go to gawk at them.
I'm in awe of all those handsome boys and adorable made with love bowties! They're perfect. I'm amazed that you were able to even plan to make them this year. How adorable! I admire you for cutting out the commercial traditions this year.
You never cease to impress me with your skills! How do you handle all those boys and then make such cute Easter bow ties? Glad you were able to capture them in their bright Easter outfits, you'll treasure those pics for years to come. I really need to get on the ball with some family traditions of our own.
